in Senior Health and Safety

Have you ever had to move? Have you ever had to downsize? Imagine living in a home for 30+ years in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 24oo sq ft house and now you’ve decided to move into a one bedroom apartment. What to get rid of, what will fit, memories or function. Well that’s exactly what seniors face when they decide to move into a Retirement Assisted living building. Usually there’s a health issue in the midst of this other monumental change. And their kids live eight states away! Daunting, frustrating, scary all wrapped up into one.

There are companies out there that can assist with such moves. Some just do the packing and moving. Others will actually help the senior go through all of the things in the closet and attic also. Some will even set up the new apartment to look as close to home as possible so it’s not such a big change. If you or a loved one is going through this turmoil presently, call your local Home Instead Senior Care office and we can give you numbers of folks who can help. This is just the beginning of a long process in an ongoing journey…take all the help you can get!
