Devastation is left behind from the winds and waters of the forces of nature. We’ve seen it over and over again it seems. I think that we forget too quickly, the lives that are affected in this aftermath. Home Instead Senior Care was founded by folks who care about others, as do the franchisees that are a part of the whole operation worldwide…so it seemed like a natural progression.

Did you know that Home Instead Senior Care had a Disaster Relief Foundation? And that I’m on the board? The HISC Disaster Relief foundation was established in 2005 by Lori and Paul Hogan to assist Home Instead Senior Care franchise owners affected by overwhelming disasters anywhere across the franchise network. It was born out of owners wanting to financially help areas around the world that are so impacted by hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis and any other major disasters. The board has awarded tens of thousands of dollars to help others in their time of need, including places like Haiti where we have no company presence and the recent earthquake in Japan.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted by Hurricane Irene but we have also been monitoring the devastation left behind in its path to make sure that we can assist as much as possible. If you would like to contribute to the Disaster Relief Foundation, please send your donation to:
