Tenacity

I’m a bird lover. I love the many shapes and colors, their songs and flight patterns. I’ve got one presently building a nest in my hanging flower basket. I also marvel when a tiny sparrow takes on a hawk because it got too close to her nest of little ones!

I’ve seen that same tenacity at the end of life when some people hold on for one more birthday, or a granddaughter’s graduation or the birth of a new great-grandson. I’ve always said that there’s a reason that some people live to be 100!  Why do some people get lung cancer who have never smoked and other smokers live a LONG life. I’ll never understand the twists and fate to life but I marvel at how many folks face adversity and challenges. Sometimes we’re the swallow because we’re able to face down illness or tragedy with great courage. I hope I can be a swallow as I go through the aging process. Do you have a story of couragous swallow?
